Theatrical Makeup Information:
Get a Ben Nye makeup kit (the smallest one you can find). Ben Nye makes actual theater makeup that works well under theater lights. DO NOT just assume your street makeup will work. You’ll fade under the lights. The simplest Ben Nye kits will work well for you. You can find a kit at the theatrical costumes store at 673 30th in Boulder. Ask their advice for colors if you’re not sure about your own skin color.Lipstick: NEW for 2019: Please use the darkest red in your Ben Nye kit for your lips, or use Maybelline color 950: Untained Spice, available at Walgreens and other stores. It’s possible to share lipstick if you use a brush or sponge to apply it. The Burt’s Bees color we had been using has changed formulation and no longer gives the coverage we need for the stage.
